Yes, I do count that as day one.

That depends on what time of day you set the eggs. If you set them in the morning then you can call it day 1 but if you set them in the evening, it is best to call the next day, day 1.

At least in the fall, if not year round, I’m keeping a few quail in the sun porch or house.
I am aware of how bad the tank will get with pine, but what about sand? Will quail in a tank (20 or 55) get as messy and smelly?

I don't know but I think I decided to not use a tank because I think someone told me it does get stinky fast.

Idk about stinky but my chicks sure can dirty it fast and poop a ton

But they are also way bigger and way more of them. Two tiny little fakers probably would have been fine.

I can't wait to order from Myshire! ordering within the next week. If the ship on Mondays and Tuesdays and i order on Saturday i will get them right after all my current batch has hatched!

I looked up quail in tanks (I’ve done hamsters and guinea pigs), and it was worse than the others. I have a cage, but the tanks are already out there.

I was planning on ordering 50 eggs of the variety mix! this will give me a lot of selection and opportunity for selective breeding and my own goals. which is partly why i am ordering it
