They work really well for chicks. They can't drown in them, but they can get stuck behind them.

Do quail chicks kick stuff up as much as chicken chicks or make as much of a mess?? I swear my chicken chicks could make a mess of the brooder the millisecond I clean it

Mine are using a lizard dish with rocks in it.

Are you good at identifying pearl or snowy? I can't figure out the difference.

Nope!!
Well, maybe marginally smaller. There was still a remarkable amount of mess produced by my last batch.

Mine scratch the feed everywhere I feed them and 5 minutes later there's no food left. But they're so cute so I let them get away with it.
