Okay okay, u keep it, raise it, and breed it, and keep a few eggs, ill buy a handful of extra eggsYou'd have a very hard time prying it out of my hands. I have my shodan, and I'll fight for it! View attachment 2401944 View attachment 2401949 View attachment 2401950
Lol! I had one do that. I kept looking for it on the table but my cat wouldn’t move out of my way. Turns out she was hovering over the chick!Mine started hatching election night. Just put them in the brooder today. Would you believe, that as I was transferring them, one brave chick jumped out of the incubator, landed on it's feet, ran behind the dog cage (with dog in it). Little booger, that was a 3 foot jump. Was uninjured. Didn't even struggle when I picked it up, (after moving the dog and cage out of the way) and is having a blast in the brooder. LOL.
Thanks! The sponge idea is great. As it was my first time incubating I was terrified to open it at all ever. I only opened to candle one day, then set up lock down one daythe janoelle 12 can have cool spots....i got my best hatches rotating the eggs to different areas every few days. to keep the humidity more stable, you can add sponge pieces. you will typically want to increase temp slightly at lockdown when you remove the turner tray because the fan is on top. hopefully that helps a bit???
You might have to pop the top off of that egg if it's struggling too much. How exciting, though!I have my first Hatcher, and he zipped around the middle!

I’ve been watching him to see if he starts getting tired, but I think he’s got it. Fingers crossed, I hate to have to open it so soon haha, but I have a piece of shelf liner and a bowl of water ready to make a damp cloth to toss in.You might have to pop the top off of that egg if it's struggling too much. breaking news:
He has a foot hooked outside now and is really pushing it open hard, I think he’s got the leverage.
