Congratulations!! It's funny they got messed up without even having other chicks in there to toss them about.

Smh, but at least he didn’t lose his place, he just started in the wrong spot. The egg was very short and round, so maybe he just couldn’t figure it out.Congratulations!! It's funny they got messed up without even having other chicks in there to toss them about.
Beautiful birds. Soon as I get a new camera, gonna have to set up pics of the ones I have currently.Update, 2 are out, 4 more zipping, hatching is imminent.
here are some pics of the snowies, as well as the start to the pen for the snowies.
These guys are 3 weeks old, and mostly feathered, they’re big and fat, so I’ll be weaning them off the nutridrench and sending them outdoors soon.
This is one of my faves, it’s really pretty.

This one has a lovely pattern and reminds me of waves and the ocean. It also has the white primaries gene.

Here’s tiny Pebble compared to the big guys, the pics don’t do the size difference justice, when I pick them up, the big ones weigh at least 3x more. But Pebble is happy and active, and the white ones, which we now call the snow angels because my daughter thought it was a great name for them are small too, but doing great so far.

This one is interesting looking, I’m wondering if you guys know whether he is a single factor fee, or a pansy fee or something else? He has vibrant red/orange spots, and has a generally orange look.

I had a crazy idea for a cage so I’m putting it together this week, gonna see how it works out, here’s my start so far:

it’ll open in front, and the table will add stability and a roof. I’m going to put it under the deck facing out so I don’t lose yard space. Hopefully it’ll work out like it does in my head haha.
I count the hatched eggshells rather than the chicks. Much easier because they don't run around.I think I’m up to 22 in the brooder, I lost count a bit haha, there’s 5 more in the bator. Still some pipped eggs with moving chicks, so I think it’ll be 30-32 chicks. I got up this morning and one of the brooder chicks had passed, he was just laying under the heat plate looking normal, but he was gone. I had put the group in at about 4 am, because I got up to go to the bathroom and there were so many traveling around in a pack, they were knocking the eggs around. They all seemed fine, but I don’t know if there was just something internal wrong. Usually when they get to the brooder, they will probably be ok, if they look iffy I put them in a special sick bay for strugglers.
lots of tuxes, I think Tiger Millionaire was the big stud this time around lol.
I wonder how many of us including my self are are thinking why didnt i think of thatI count the hatched eggshells rather than the chicks. Much easier because they don't run around.
That’s a great idea, unfortunately I already threw some away when I removed the first group of chicks, but I will definitely do that for the brinsea.I count the hatched eggshells rather than the chicks. Much easier because they don't run around.
When I have a lot of chicks hatched, I count the unhatched eggs and subtract them from the total that were put in there to get the number of chicks hatched.I count the hatched eggshells rather than the chicks. Much easier because they don't run around.
