I took it that she wasn't sure what she was going to do with the shells.

Personally I like my hard boiled eggs pickled in beet juice and I add them to the jar as soon as I get them peeled.

Thank you, kind sir, for confirming my suspicion. I won't be setting eggs this week either. The rain for 3 days has drained the batteries on the solar lights. I hope to get eggs next week.
