Nice Does she cover them up like a broody mama?

The chicks stuff themselves under her, and she'll spread her wings a bit. Then she'll get tired of it and stand up, and all these chicks will fall out. It's funny.

@Kiki I'm calling this hatch.
71 were set, 20 HG, 51 from K.Dale. Oh, also 6 button eggs that a hen went broody on then quit.
Of the HG, only 1 was fertile (I hadn't been giving extra light)
Four K.Dale eggs got crushed when my turner broke.
30 K.Dale hatched, 1 HG. 1 had severely curled toes and died.
3 buttons hatched

I’ve called my hatch too 16 in the brooder, i think only one is a runt. I call him roly poly because his neck is bent down. I think I started with 36 4 were non-fertile and 16 were early/late quitters. (8 early, 8 late) the 2 late quitters that I opened were fully formed but head at pointy end.

Nice looking birds! Where are you located? I'm in NE PA and keep my quail in cages in a garage. Too many predators and too much snow in Winter to keep them outside.

Good luck! I have 64 eggs in the incubator. They just started hatching yesterday. There a mix of celadone and jumbos. Most of them from Myshire.

Thanks! And I’m in SE Massachusetts. Mine are in a cage inside the coop for the winter. They were outside but like you said, too much snow. Predators never really bothered them (they go after my chickens instead ) but I didn’t want them out in the snow. I took them out of the cage though for these pics because it was better lighting.
