Awww.... poor critterfirst one to hatch was an albino with the organs on the outside of its body...Not the scene I expected when I heard the first chirps
I’m shocked that it zipped and made it out at all...
I left him in the incubator. couldn’t bring myself to cull... hopefully atleast his last moments will be warm.Awww.... poor critter![]()
I'm so sorry. I hate culling chicks, but I also hate to see them suffer. Poor thing.first one to hatch was an albino with the organs on the outside of its body...Not the scene I expected when I heard the first chirps

It is heartbreaking. I regret going through with the hatch despite knowing the risks. I have one rosetta and two silvers, so I knew one in 3 was definitely going to be okay, incubation had started and I didn’t want to toss everything and restart. I thought the ones that had the lethal genes or were weak weren’t going to hatch themselves anyway, little did I knowI'm so sorry. I hate culling chicks, but I also hate to see them suffer. Poor thing.
It is heartbreaking but if it doesn’t expire on its own in a few hours, I recommend wrapping it in a paper towel and either a quick snip with sharp scissors or a quick pull to pop the head off. Then you can sit and have a good cry but you’ll know it didn’t suffer.I left him in the incubator. couldn’t bring myself to cull... hopefully atleast his last moments will be warm.
That looks like a double silver not an albino. The red is probably the yolk sac not organs(slightly less gross I guess). But the red bloody egg sac like that has never ended well for me. Did it perk up at all after hatch? If you want one that had exploded it’s yolk to survive, they need nutrients right away, and very regularly until they’re eating and drinking on their own, and I assume unabsorbed yolk will be similar. I mix water, nutridrench, and some ground up powdered feed, but you want it to remain a thin consistency like water, so not too much feed.first one to hatch was an albino with the organs on the outside of its body...Not the scene I expected when I heard the first chirps
