When my buttons hatched last November people kept asking me if they were coturnix for some odd reason. I was like look at the size of the bloody chick and the pictures of the eggs, there’s no freaking way even a complete novice is mixing them up.

Everyone’s chicken chicks look like complete monsters by comparison! I get so tripped out by the photos of babies 3 times the size of my grown up boys.

I know the feeling. The thing is, it's really hard to tell size in pictures. Even with items for scale, you don't realize just how tiny the buttons are until you see them in person.

Eh, fair enough. I also think they have very different faces but I do have an eye for detail.

To me they look different too, but I've been raising them for a while now. To me the dead give away are the legs. Completely different colour.

The replacement eggs from SouthWest Gamebirds arrived today. They didn't bounce around like the last batch, so I hope to have a better hatch rate.

@Kiki you were so right about running out of space. 27 gallon only lasted 3 weeks (probably should have been 1.5). They've upgraded to a 110 gallon water container and are enjoying all their space.

Mine are outside with no heat.
No heat for a while already.

I have ONE female. I'm pretty sure the rest are all male.

Thank you very much idk how to feather sex so I'm waiting to vent sex at 6 weeks. I'm no good at that either haha.

And if my nighttime lows are in the 40s do they need a light at 3 weeks old?
