Ohhh... WELL okay, that was all the encouragement I needed@Kiki used to candle every day. As long as you don't keep the incubator open too long at a time, it does not hurt anything and may actuaslly help. Broody hens normally get off a nest every day. I had broody chicken hens that would get off their nest every day for at least 15 minutes. They were excellent at hatching eggs.
Oh man, this is gonna be hard! Some of those I guessed are still developing... I've read the candling guide thread and watched so many videos, and they all just make me feel like I know less and less
No need to toss any. Just leave them in until you are 100% sure they are no good.Ohhh... WELL okay, that was all the encouragement I neededI did a quick candling tonight, looks like all but 1 of the 12 black eggs is developing, I'll check again this weekend and if that one's still a dud I'll toss it. Of the 14 celadons, there are a couple that look infertile that I'll give until this weekend and then toss. Also definitely spotted a few badly saddled air sacs, which I now understand is not uncommon with shipped eggs, but not much I can do now so we'll cross that bridge when we get there I suppose. Thanks guys!!

They might. I usually pull them as soon as I'm certain they're dead. That means that I will candle the egg for several days to be sure. They won't explode? (The stories of them exploding make me nervous)

If they don't have any cracks they are unlikely to explode. It isn't uncommon for there to be some that are cracked during shipping. Cracked eggs are very likely to explode. I never intentionally set any cracked eggs. They won't explode? (The stories of them exploding make me nervous)
