On a similar note. The first time I ever had Button quail, I didn't know what kind of call or noises to expect, I was awaken by a horrible hissing sound one night, I thought there was a monster from a B- horror movie loose in my house. First time you hear it, it will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck!![]()

If it's white, it will still be white when it's mature. Probably the English white gene was more dominate.Need some help. Just had a hatch and got an odd chick out. Sorry about the picture as he/she still has egg on there head. I have 9 yellow chick hatched but one has come out bleached bottle blond. It is so white.... can someone tell me if it is still a white or another colour. Second question has anyone had a double yoker quail hatch. Candled eggs last night to find I have two chicks in one egg.View attachment 1693090

gorgeous!
Do you have apples? Go make cinnamon apple muffins. Baking keeps ya busy!I've not had a double yolker either, sorry can't help
Congrats on the little fuzz ballsgorgeous!
No 6 is a sweet little yella' one, who is perfectly capable of finishing hatching all on it's own. I need to go out before I intervene and kill it![]()
Just candled buttons again.....none of the air cells look good
but there was clear movement in at least 1 of the remaining 8! the air cell is around the fat end but curves up to top of small end and back down on the side opposite the embryo. my guess is that the air cells got disrupted in shipping?? Is there anything I can do at this point to improve the odds or do I just stick with crossing my fingers and waiting it out (and never again order from ebay!)
