Congratulations! I should have taken a picture of the basilisk egg. Not sure what an appropriate setting would have been.

Very nice colander and exquisite picture composition! The flowers are wonderful contrast. Is this what you normally collect eggs in? I use baskets that Crazy Lady brought home for a "craft project" that never happened. Just in case, you understand. The collapsible egg baskets I found impractical since they aren't free standing. They would shift the eggs too much. Not sure why they are marketed for egg collection.

The purpose sold metal wire baskets are too deep for my tastes.
I use my shirt.
I was gifted one of those egg apron things.
I don't have time to put that on.

Thank you so much! I really know nothing about photography except that my eggs look best (as far as their true color actually coming through in a photo) after the sun has just set so there’s no harsh lighting or shadows.

I usually just use my hands to collect eggs as I only have four egg layers at the moment. I do have a couple small wire baskets but they are currently in use as cloches around some climbing nasturtium seedlings just outside my chicken run.

Duckling sang to it the whole way back to the house, and when I refused to incubate it right now, began telling it over and over that she can’t wait to see what it looks like when it hatches. I think she literally took 100 pictures with her tablet.

:loveDuckling is so sweet. Could you explain to her the first eggs are for eating to make sure they taste OK. Then later, those are the ones for incubating. Unless you are Batty, then the rules are different.
