➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

The design for the air flow is much better on the old ones. The air intake is at the top in the back with the outlet at the bottom in the back. The newer Sporstman has the air intake at the top in the back and the outlet at the top in the front.
Yep, better air flow, less straitification.

@Texas Kiki.....I was just perusing the hatch list....We haven’t added the 15 from 4/21 hatch. Also wondering if easier to combine mine into monthly #’s as I’m running out of room on the list! :gig
@CayugaJana what was your final # on the tibetan hatch??

countdown is on for May!! Lockdown Thursday for Sat/Sun hatch! broodys should hatch by Friday if viable.:barnie:pop

I think it was 120. I’ve slept since then so we can just go with that.
What day or around what day?

I've been slacking on the sheet guys, my bad.
It's not as easy as changing a poll. :he

PLEASE remind me to add your numbers to the sheet. Please.
It's hard for me to remember.

Work has finally begun on my quailviary. I sent dh to pick up lumber this morning and he started right in when he got back. He was just supposed to pick up the lumber, I was going to build it, but I'm not complaining. Our 19 year old joined him, so I just stayed out of the way and cleaned pens. Lol

It's 8x8, 8' tall closest to the shop. Should be perfect for my little quail flock :thumbsup

Hopefully will have an aviary in 2-3 weeks. Wayyyy later than I wanted but super excited!!!

:frow hello everybody! Please call me turk. I went 10 pages back and read forward.

I had been PMing Master Kiki about eggs cuz i thought i might buy some from her. Then i called Mr Robbie at JMF and

You see hes only an hr away and 50 eggs is 15$ for pickup

When i got there for 50 "unique collection" (limited myself after last time i saw him and set 100 when he doubled my order for a shipping mishap becuz thats a whole lotta babies to raise)

Someone had taken my order! Even locked up his lil pickup room! I had called him n he came over, n doubled my order again  he says Hes:rolleyes: sorry, the eggs were clearly labeled for me and i know how he does it, imo that lady had to of done it knowingly. Now hes gone and pulled these eggs for me tho and i can see theres 2) 50 egg flats. I felt bad i only had the 15$ that i owed him and next time ill def add a tip to his envelope when i pickup.

He told me on the phone he wasnt sure off hand whats avalible for my unique box but that he now has 55 varieties! I told told him i am at his whim, ima fool w them no matter which ones i get :gig he knows i like the celadon(a note on your celadon discussion like CC said he will only sell lines that breed true so i know all of these will be blue layers) so he included those for me as well as def falb fee and red range. The falb fee are at the end of their laying prime, the fertility has started going down so thats why the extras  50 of em extras :lau really nice guy, yest was the first time i actually met him in person and again he didn't disappoint :)

I am rebuilding after the gnats devastated my quail flock. Theyre in all the papers and on the news now. I feel like my quail went down quickest then a banty hen but no LF because i do have a decent enough set up and husbandry skills but the quail are small and most highly susceptible in the way their setups are as well as well. They donno what caused this blow up but those :rantthings have devastated livestock all over the place and in WY even Deer populations last yr! That flock of the quail was what i was restarting with after the human littlest turned 1 and her twin brothers turned 2. The quail were just over 2 months old, had just started laying at 7 and 8 wks, all JMF XL jumbos :( lost 41 to have 1 remainder.

I live in Wyoming and never heard of any devastation of the deer populations due to gnats happening in 2018. CWD (Chronic Wasting Disease) is a problem but a google search did not reveal any gnat problem.
