Finally ordered egg cartons for the upcoming farmers markets. Don't they look adorable. Lol

I was on the phone with the Department of agriculture this morning and found out I can process and sell up to 1000 birds a year on site or at farmers markets without special licensing or inspection. I just need to register my little operation, which is free, and keep a record of birds processed and sold. So now I'm thinking of offering quail meat in the future.

So Cute! I actually just got 7 button quail eggs that I'm incubating, this will be my first time hatching chicks and I'm really exited! I put them in the incubator on June 10 when they arrived and I'm going to candle them tomorrow!

Anyone have thoughts on leaving an incubator running while I’m out of town for a few days? It would be about mid cycle with homegrown eggs leaving Thursday morning and returning Sunday evening.

Otherwise I’d have to push the hatch off two weeks if I waited and if the whole thing is a bust I won’t be out much since they’re not purchased eggs.

Seems like an incubator would be a low fire risk, right?

I'd leave it running. Do you trust it enough to not have a heat spike?
