➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

My second quail cage was supposed to be started and finished this weekend but I slacked off. I'll get it done plus one more before my eggs are even set. I hope. If not for sure before they hatch.

post a pic of your cages please!!?? HAL is my first try incubating but if all goes well I want to set 24 quail eggs to hatch around thanksgiving! Hubby has already agreed!!

those are awesome! something new to add to my flock “to do” list! still have to finish coop #2, build a lean-to feeding station, hubby is trying to figure out a good heated watering system for the run (not sure about transitioning the entire flock of all different sizes to nipples) oh and decided to add sand base to run because the straw just seems to be breaking down and getting nasty too quickly.

I'm fixing to check a few eggs now. I don't have high hopes yet.

Are you giving them extra light? Maybe he's not mating because they're not laying much.

They JUST started laying. I've never seen him mate and he doesn't crow yet.


I know it is highly unlikely anything will actually hatch. I know it's not wise to set brand new laid eggs...I'm just... Um... Doing an experiment.

Give them a few more days. You have nothing to lose. In the meantime, you can start saving more eggs.
