➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

If you do, we will get the Incubator Fairy to fix it for you! I understand how easy they are now. evilbay even has digital thermostats that are supposed to be totally automatic. Just watch humidity. Plug & play. QED.
I wonder if there will be any Chistmas BOGO specials.

Oh boy I don't even want to look.

X2 I need to see cricket eggs!

For cricket eggs, you get a flat of moist earth with the eggs in it. Special conditions and all. Then the little hoppers come out and you have to feed & water them. Crazy Lady started, I tried to rescue and failed. Interesting side bar. Stinks. Smelled like roaches.

When you open the lid, they scattered everywhere. I just took the whole thing into the chicken yard and they cleaned up the escapees. Not worth the effort, imho.

One of the egg/soil containers had actually dried out yesterday when I checked them. I gave it to my teeny tiny 10day old cortinex babies, they were having a great old time pecking away in it.

Cricket eggs are barely visible, I had a giggle at the replies imagining trying to line them up in the incubator :gig
Mealworms are heaps easier, they just do their thing without intervention.

Okay, here’s the deal... mom says I can hatch my own quail. I found a supplier for some Coturnix quail eggs. She said I can hatch my own BUT she thinks baby quail are too frail to handle this weather. I’ve been trying to convince her otherwise and she’s even agreed THAT THEY CAN LIVE INSIDE! So, how can I convince her otherwise? I don’t really see her reasoning
