Wow, I'd be in deep trouble if chicks weren't utterly impossible for much of winter.
In the wonderful country of Texas, the feed stores stop having chicks from around Dec 12 to Jan 12, and then it's all day every day of chicks.
Yeah, but as soon as they sell all of the chicks they stop selling 24% chick starter, too!...that's why I had to go to a mill and have mine custom made.

We used that right before the cold started as the chickens were molting and would not get their feathers back, but that 30% was awesome and brought them back so fast. 
....Is getting your feed milled cheaper though?
I’m gonna guess that is because Ideal is right there. And that’s great they are always available.

In some of the feedstore cases yes, but the ones I was referring to get their chicks from Hoover's.
TSC never has anything for meat & game birds.
Ah, makes sense! Yeah I'm pretty certain my family is the only ones keeping that starter in stock up here.
