➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

What type waterer are you thinking about? Don't forget you have to drain them when it freezes. I didn't think about that and had trouble draining mine yesterday.
:lau I'm not worried about anything freezing. I'm more worried about keeping it cool in the summer. I'm thinking something like an orange Igloo ice chest thing (with a frozen gallon water jug inside) to feed some type of cups or something.

I can’t find my second heat lamp. If I need a new one, are there other heat lamp options than the big one we find at the feed store?
Home Depot. Clippy lamp and a regular light bulb. B:confused:

:old:old yes I candled my eggs!!

I knew my Texas boy loved his brown girl.. but I didnt realise the brown girl was his only girl. None of my Texas girls eggs are fertile.
My bought eggs have a very high fertility rate, approx 6-8 clears from 60 eggs!

I'm not going to touch them again, will just let them do their thing.:jumpy

60 eggs... yes!

I figured since they are shipped eggs I might get 10 to hatch (seems about right based on all other shipped eggs)..
Now I'm pooping my pants I might end up with 30-odd babies :th
I won't have time to do anything other than feed them & clean up!!!
My 47 are easy to maintain. I have a 3 lb feeder we just top off in the morning and at night. I do need a larger waterer - the quart sized waterer is not enough - it needs to get filled 2-4 times a day. As for cleaning, I switched to pine shavings after just over a week. I just add a little more once a day or now and clean after a few days.
