I was just thinking about a horizontal nipple waterer today. I’ve never actually used nipples. I thought the cup wouldn’t work with young quail.
Btw, I just found the other heat lamp.

I used them for a few weeks with my chicken chicks a few years ago but I didn't think they were getting enough water at the time.
I need to pull my nipples out and see if my quailies can figure them out but I think I'd rather go with some type of cup.

The quail craze is apparently hot locally, ran into someone at the grocery store while buying bedding who wants a batch now too!

Lots of people *do* have chickens up here, but it's technically disallowed and the predators make it terrible anyways. Plus, since the main issue is the sensitivity of the watershed just trying to do it sneakily feels worse vs. something where you can collect and dispose of the super-ammonia poop. I do use *some* in my garden but it's a lot less than it would be if they were on the ground.

Anyways, the main takeaway is MORE EGGS INTO THE INCUBATOR!
