Yay! I have a lab/hound too, though he's closer to 70lbs. Got all of the hound anxiety and all of the lab energy rolled into one dog...

I have been trying to talk the hubby into letting me get a fantail pigeon to satisfy my need for fancy chicken tail feathers, and someone is desperately trying to rehome a rescue in the valley at the moment....

Hah! We have a shi tzu/poodle mix that I like to refer to as "my wife's dog". I call her a large squirrel all the time. I used to have an 85lb Olde English Bulldogge and now a ~50lb Hound/Lab mix. I'll mess around with small birds, but I'm not really a fan of small dogs. Even the Hound/Lab mix is a bit on the smaller side for my taste.

I prefer real dogs too but I couldn't turn this one away.
He's the one that came with tapeworms.

I am 100% sure he'd be dead if I didn't take him.
His litter mate and mom died.
