➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I am sad today I got my first egg this morning. First of the season. Went back out to feed and my hen was laying down and not moving. I picked her up and all she could do is bob her head. I put her by herself. I guess it's about her time she is 6 years old. Hope she pulls through. I liked that hen she is the only hen I got with spurs.

I'm so so sorry! It does sound like it might just be old age issues. I hope she perks up too.

How does everyone feel about keeping half-lame quail still eating, moving, and enjoying life until the 6 week mark? I have two with one weird foot each I can't correct and one with stubby wings I'm considering doing that with. It doesn't really feel worse than putting them down and they're exceptionally healthy aside from the minor defects. I've had my share of VERY deformed baby quail but none in the middle like this before.
