➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I just ordered 230 Tibetan coturnix quail eggs from Myshire Farms.:wee:oops:

I think I will try out both Bobs and Coturnix to see which ones I like better. Thank you to whoever referred me to them! It was one of you but my short term memory is non-existent. Their website is very informative.

Wow! that’s great! my tibetans and pansies have always been the strongest chicks!! if you are on fb....be sure to like and join all the myshire groups (especially the quail supply and auction). zack and jenna are both very involved in the groups and zack easiest to reach on messenger. they have two contests this weekend giving away a wynola ranch cage. one is for anyone who comments watched on a myshire youtube video and the other is for auction site (anyone participating in an auction on Sunday is entered)

I’m at day 20 on first hatch. 30 hatch, 1 cull, lost 1 in brooder overnight (not sure why). rearranging unhatched eggs and 1 pipped with movement. i opened shell a bit and still pretty gooey so left all in and waiting. 20 pearls in lockdown.
This is hatch day 23-23 in the poll? It went up to 30 babies?

Yeah, back in the mid 70's early 80's I raised Bob's commercially (over 5,000/yr.) Yep, I still raise alot of birds but not commercially.
The only birds I have left from last years hatch are 3 Red golden males. They have been spoken for but the person that's suppose to come get them hasn't called or shown up (about 6 months now). I won't ship them either, local pick up only.

ETA - I'm not NPIP and don't want to be...it really doesn't mean a thing, except there was no disease found at the time of testing. That doesn't mean anything if a week later they contract a disease. Some sellers would keep shipping their birds or eggs anyway, so it's kinda useless, IMO. All it does is allow them to ship birds, eggs or other 'parts' of their birds...doesn't really protect the buyer or a seller from having or receiving a diseased bird.
It also allows an inspector to come onto your property at anytime, to inspect your facilities, test your birds, or have your entire flock destroyed if a disease is found, like Merecks.
Here in Texas they won't off your flock for Marek's.
