well we double checked and filled in holes and put the valentine’s 19 into genpop! there was a bit of pecking and 1 of my older males “goosing” all the babies to make them fly! It was a bit comical. hoping everyone settles in overnight!

“Pompom” has decided that I am his mama and he cries when I’m not next to the brooder, but as soon as I come over and talk to him he starts chattering and pecking away at his food.

First, I understand quail do that even in groups. Second, can you put a tiny little cap of water, and food in the incubator for the night?

Oh, I meant put the baby back. I was surprised no one told you to do that earlier.

I know some people think they will simply die if they don’t eat right away, I just don’t feel that way. Anything that hatches tonight will be fine. Meanwhile, you either need to put the brooder in the bed (I’ve actually done that), or put the chick back.

Chicks settle down and should sleep when the lights go out. Should be fine. Best wishes with the others for hatching.
