āž” Quail Hatch Along🄚

My eggs came from two local breeders at a poultry swap. I am going to be much more picky about where I get eggs in the future.

Humidity during incubation was 45 to 55% and 60 to 65% during lockdown. I had one short drop in humidity during the first few days of incubation.

Thanks for the pics and stories, it gives me hope for this little one. I have been so impressed by its tenaciousness so far.

That is high for initial humidity. Might be part of the issue! Never hurts to be picky, though. Maybe try 30% next hatch and see if that works better.

Are quail especially fatty? I suppose you could precook & drain before assembling.
This is the most fat I've seen yet.

Too high, for me, I like 30-35%.

day 6 candling....5/60 eggs non-fertile.....trashed and down to 1 bator running now! 3 chicken eggs under broody at day 11ish.....so want to candle but haven’t yet. A friend picked up all my eggs to fill orders so I’m at a bakers dozen for personal use until tomorrow’s collection!!! I gave him 26 dozen!! planning a trade this weekend of 4-5 pullets for 6 or so 5 week cornishX. I get my numbers down a little with plenty ready to butcher in 3-4 weeks!!! quailies are having a ball in their new area!! I let Hodor (my lone EE chick from early April) loose to check it out and one of my quail pecked him and he was such a drama queen!! I wish I had it on video!! :lau
