Shorts are winter gear. I am confused.
Wear pants in the summer to keep the mosquitoes & snakes off the legs.
So, if the average night time temperature is in the 70's, do I need a heat lamp in the brooder? I'm thinking not.

I was literally going to space bag all the coats, flannels, fleeces, thick socks, and winter blankets away this week. Haven't had snow since feb but our low on day is 34...which can mean snow all day if we have the right wind. Ugh.After days of shorts, I was almost in tears when it began snowing. I still have not put away the snow shovels or winter gear.
I want to to put your hen's eggs in on purpose.
You gotta fine tune the bator before you get real eggs.
And...you don't work the first few days.
You can't leave the bators side.
And you only get 30 minute naps. No real sleeping allowed.
This only applies with real eggs though.
If you know your bator and trust it you are allowed to work and sleep.
Air cells get larger. You would be testing how it holds it's humidity and temperature with actual eggs in it since there is some fluctuation with it being empty and actually having something in it.But the thing about my hens eggs makes sense. Although I donāt get what I would see or learn? What would happen? Like whatās the goal of it? Do the air cells shrink??
HI!!! How have you been?!Air cells get larger. You would be testing how it holds it's humidity and temperature with actual eggs in it since there is some fluctuation with it being empty and actually having something in it.

Hi!HI!!! How have you been?!
Set the tiny ones. Quail eggs are small anyways. Thanks!! That makes a lot of sense!! Can I set refrigerated eggs?? Those are the only ones I have right now!! And how many eggs do I need to set to be sure/for it to work!? I have 15 right now (and one really cracked/broken one). I was gonna save some to give to a neighbor but a bunch of them are so small. :/ so maybe Iāll set all the tiny ones and wait for them to lay some bigger ones lol although theyāve slowed down recently and idk why. Maybe they are bothered by the new chicks and having slightly less space?? And/or by the very unusually cold and rainy weather weāve had lately?? Cause we were getting like 5 a day and now itās like 1-3 ha
