No cats until Cobra dies.
He would eat one. I'm not dealing with that.

I guess that makes sense and yeah pigs are super smart and can be pets too, I used to want one but not now, but I can understand how the line would be blurred, but idk. I still don’t consider puppies and kittens food. But then again people in India don’t consider cows food cause they’re sacred. There was a book I got a while ago about why some animals are valued more than other or considered food by some or whatever that looked pretty interesting but I haven’t read it yet. But I’ve been meaning to. I guess for some there probably isn’t a difference and I can’t really tell you why I consider some animals okay or different but draw the line at others, like why one’s life matters more than another, but I just.... do. Idk. Idk why there’s a difference to me but there is. But that said, I also don’t think even rats are nasty creatures either and I eventually want some or mice for pets so it’s not that they’re just vermin to me but idk. I guess it’s as long as it’s not my pet it’s okay. Idk. The line is pretty blurred there too for me.
And yeah, I guess that’s true, being eaten by coyotes or other predators, especially alive, is definitely horrible, and a terrible death, but I guess to me the difference is it’s not done purposely. They’re not willingly being fed to something. At least they had a chance. But I guess if it was killed first, the snake thing might be more humane. But idk. It’s still done purposely which I don’t really get but idk.
And sorry, I wasn’t trying to start a fight or anything. I was just a little shocked was all. But I guess to each their own.

If it helps, snake food is almost always humanely euthanized first, you don't want to risk the snake getting injured or killed every meal and that would be way unnecesarily traumatic for everyone.
My local humane society puts down a few hundred cats and kittens every year, so being from the city and seeing that maybe I'm biased towards there being any positive use for any of the extrasI think they might get donated to the zoo which ends up basically the same thing.
My cat plays fetch too! Mostly when I'm on the couch watching TV and she wants attention.I am now firmly of the opinion that anyone not a fan of cats has never had a good cat.
This is understandable. They are mostly weird.
Don't they usually get euthanized by injection? I thought the chemicals stayed in the body and could pass to whatever eats it? I thought I read somewhere that a shelter/pound wasn't following protocol and sent dead animals to the dump and raptors ended up dying because of the drugs. If it helps, snake food is almost always humanely euthanized first, you don't want to risk the snake getting injured or killed every meal and that would be way unnecesarily traumatic for everyone.

I'm down.I'm going to butt in and say that I am going to set around 40 coturnix eggs on the 29th of this month, they should hatch on the 15th of June I think. My first time hatching quail, any suggestions? And does anyone want to set with me?![]()
Me. I hatched a few times. I will try to post the numbers when I get home. Are we tracking just quail, or also chickens and turkeys?
