You have to tell us duckling's reaction. I am excited on her behalf. I think it's smart to get the actual hatching process well underway/finished first, though (if that was intentional).

with myshire eggs, I’ve set immediately to resting for almost a week! all hatches have been basically same!! I second going ahead and setting!!

all birdies doing good tonight! i moved silkies to check eggs....no discernible pips or activity yet......

I talked to zack briefly today and my cartons/scissors will hopefully ship soon and he said he can get me 60 jumbo eggs by next week!!! (to set once this hatch completes)

stopped by rural king today to pick up dog food oops: i let my poor dummies run out and forgot to pick it up when i got my bird food).....the shipment of melanistic mutants that was due today didn’t arrive yet so no new babies yet but it took all I had to not come out with some of the polish crested chicks!! (I kept chanting “no more chickens!!!” all the way out the door)

Butchering day rescheduled for tomorrow.....have to take out these “mutant” cornish cross chickens I traded laying hens for!!! They are only 6-8 weeks and i can’t handle it!!! More cruel than keeping/breeding BB turkeys!!! They can’t figure out how to go in the coop and just wallow in the mud all day/night!! their legs are huge but still not enough to support their mutant bodies!! Hubby said we going to have to give them baths b4 butchering!! (NEVER EVER Will I GET THEM AGAIN!!!)

The one Kiki pointed out is moving some, but will probably not hatch until tomorrow. It still has veins. Very little movement, so I might lose it. Another also has a biggish external pip, and was one of the first, but isn’t ready.
One baby was asleep, but not anymore!
Six are active, and one was mad enough at me to start pipping more. I heard a lot of peeping and egg cracking.
