The coop plans have been finalized, and the lumber will be purchased this weekend. I already got the hardware cloth and wheels. The detachable run is going to be split into two 6' x 4' sections instead of one 6' x 8' section so it is easier to move, and gives me flexibility in size depending on my current flock size and which garden bed they'll be bug hunting in. The mobile 6' x 2' coop will have a wide opening with a slide down door so the quail can be herded in and moved to another location at any time. The roof will be on hinges with a hardware cloth cover under it with a hole in it so I can put food and water in from the top. The coop section will be about 18" off of the ground. The runs will have a fold down hardware cloth flap so there will be no gap between them and the coop for either the raised garden beds or on the ground.

Agreed. You couldn't pay me to use Facebook, and knowing you can get things discounted there has ensured I'll never order full price from them anywhere even if that means I just....never get any from them.

All caught up now, was off winning custody and child support for one of the stepchildren, drinks are on me!


Sold 5 chicken chicks yesterday too so made some more quail room. Most of my 2 wk old quail have moved out of the tanks on the back porch to an adult cage. Here a pic of 1/2 of them right before the move. Including the beige things CC

Ill still need to thin down again next wk w addition of another cage but musical coops is one of my favorite ways to handle every single bird Brooder is getting reset for the next chicken chicks 2 pipped now. Cross you fingers i sell at least 5 more this wkend and pickup this off CL

Then id make another pen from it
DH has been bringing home these shipping pallets from work and ive made one into a temporary pen already.

Congrats @mixedUPturk ! I think I would call the lighter ones creams and the darkers chocolates but I am interested to hear what JMF would call them. I don't have either so can't tell you anything more than that! They are gorgeous, and great pearls too.

They changed a lot, I thought they would end up more like my girl but she looked like this at the same stage.

(And also liked pretending to be an emu)
