Some sort of mix. She's insane about anything with feathers. If she gets her hands on even one stray feather, she'll carry it around and chew on it. She spends her days howling at my birds. Dumb dog.

Meh, I prefer the long haired dogs. I totally would've passed on her, but the elves thought she was the cutest dog ever to have been born... their vote won out.

I actually sleep down there too; the air conditioners I have aren't powerful enough to make the upstairs floor cool enough for my liking. In-ground basements are great year-round. Plus, no carpet, so no allergies.

They are tiny about the size of a nickel at hatch...when they do hatch, you will understand where the saying 'cute as a button' came from!
I put paper towels down on top of shavings in the brooder. Sprinkle feed all over the paper towels, so anywhere they peck they will get food, I also put a shallow dish of feed in the brooder too. I have special waterers made specifically for button quail. I'll post pics later when I'm near my computer.

Oh, and make sure they can't get wedged between or under anything because they will if given the opportunity.

ETA i usually do paper towels no shavings first three days. My normal quail waterers with pebbles added should work well right?

The only way to make the teen stay* outside is to lock the door behind her the others are still too young. Twin 2 yr olds one 1 yr old
