Not yet, but one egg is very cracked. It may hatch before I leave for work in half an hour.

Edit: The first egg that I saw pipped was about 36 hours ago. No progress since. It's probably dead, isn't it?

2nd edit: When I left, the one I thought was hatching wasn't moving, but the one next to it was busy breaking its way out. I hope to have at least two more when I get home. I kind of wish I could take the day off, but it's finals week.

i would say first pipper probably quit after 36 hours. but good that others are starting to show progress! I assisted 2 this morning that pipped yesterday before i got home from work and membranes were really dry which is odd because I did not open incubator at all until this morning. 1 looked ok....the other has crook neck and curly toes so not sure if it will make it. (they were both yellers too!)

Try vitamins for the crook neck, and toes could be curled because it was stuck and will fix with walking, or could need shoes to fix. Is it mobile? Or staying put? Usually if they are moving they have a better chance.

this one is full Hunchback crooked neck.....I had 1 survive to 3-4 weeks but this baby is pretty twisted.....never had vitamins make a difference but will add nutridrench to my water just in case!! had another first with my early hatcher....looked to have pasty butt and when i rubbed it off....unabsorbed yolk came out!! really weird since it’s at least 36 hours old?? not sure if just bad luck on this box, incubator still acting up, storage too long, or crazy temps during shipping/incubation but july shipped hatches just haven’t gone well!!

Does anyone have a video on how to get boots on to the little beasts? I'm up to 5 chicks now, and two of them have curled toes. I pulled two out of the incubator when I got home today and didn't notice the curled toes until I saw that one of the chicks was kind of hobbling around instead of hopping. I've been trying to get some little boots onto it, but just can't manage it. The second one may straighten up on its own, so I'm going to see how that one does.

Do you have grip stuff down on the bator and or brooder floor?

I wouldn't mess with trying to fix toes this soon after hatch.
Give him time to straighten them out on his own.

I have textured paper towel on the bottom of the incubator and pine shavings in the brooder. I finally got boots on the one that was hobbling around and its moving around more normally with the boots on. I'm leaving the other one alone.

Good to know that I probably shouldn't worry about it so soon after hatch. About how long should I wait for them to straighten out on their own before I worry about boots?
