➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Sorry, I am a busy bee in the fall, compounded by too many trips booked (not a bad problem to have) and sudden freezing storms and bear activity (bad problems to have, esp when combined with the former).

The blue on the inside doesnt have anything to do with the celadon gene that makes the outside blue. Right @CoturnixComplex ? Anyone else?

I don't think so? Some people have tossed around that they are birds with only one copy of the gene but I don't even think that's the case based off of looking at mine. I think it's just a pigment found to varying degrees in the eggshell naturally and the celadon mutation just extends it. That's my best guess anyways. :idunno

Trips? What kind of trips? Storms and bears sound bad though. Although I love bears. :love

It's just a Google sheet I made to try to keep track of how many quail we hatch this year.
Next year's list will be way more detailed.

I'll add you today.
All I need is hatch dates and total number of live quail from each set.

I keep a link to the sheet in post number one of this thread.
And I try to keep it updated regularly.

October 1st is my hatch day. I set 103. at what day would y'all recommend candling for fertility

6 weeks and 1 day.
My first little Pansy egg next to a homegrown.
:celebrate
