Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
I am really becoming a negative treat giving monster.

I prefer complete balanced feed ONLY.
I know you’ve mentioned this in the past. I think I sort of justify it as a pseudo-free range opportunity that an urban chicken might get. My recent rough math indicates about one cup of feed per five birds per day so most calories still coming from feed.

I wonder if there is a way to share all of my Google at once?

Wow Nutridrench really doesn’t have like anything in it.... that is surprising. :th
The only good thing about ND Is that it is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream.

I don’t know if it’s the same with quail but with chickens this is why I prefer to feed a higher protein feed (typically feed an 18% soy free layer or Purina Flock Raiser which I think is 20% instead of the typical 16% layer feed) because that way if/when they get treats or free range, it doesn’t ā€œwater the feed downā€ or lower the percentage of protein too much or anything like that, it’s still an acceptable level, whereas with the lower protein feed, it would be too low if they got treats. If that makes sense. But I don’t really feed treats or free range much anymore anyway. But when I do, they’re on the higher protein feed anyway. Plus I just think it makes the eggs better anyway haha

That makes sense! So seems like it’d be good for weak/lethargic/sick birds then? Which is really all I use it for anyway. But doesn’t seem good as a supplement.
