I'm too lazy to watch them, I am not an auditory processor.
I think a lot of us started raising birds because we wanted their experience to be as humane as possible - that's definitely going to make us set them up differently than someone who's main goal was to become a financially viable operation. The 3/square foot thing is nuts to me but if you asked around at the bigger hatcheries I'd guess it's pretty standard.
The feed thing was interesting - I kind of do the same thing now, but with 30% until 6 weeks and then tapered off to 25%. Its probably higher than necessary but I ain't ever going back to bumblefoot land. Like someone else mentioned it gives me *lots* of wiggle room for treats if I want, too (although they mainly only get mealworms and BOSS).
