Latest issue. The last white one is not pied and not female. Vent sexed today and definite bulge and definite foam. Definite.

There goes my autosexing theory, as according to prophecy. ;)

The choices are
1) eat him.
2) set up a fourth breeder cage for over wintering and such.
3) replace a Jumbo male with this one. Keep 3 breeder cages.

I'm assuming all the Jumbos aren't related. I know the white ones are.

Since I'm just throwing all the eggs into one incubator, I have no clue who is the progeny of whom. So keeping any of the grow out for breeders is not preferred.

My goal is happy healthy nuggets. The problem hatching and sudden death in the brooder is unappealing. This is decreasing due to my knowledge or a bigger gene pool. Either way, beautiful babies!

Of the 20 eggs I have in lockdown right now, 6 aren't mine. They're from the jumbo covey I sold. I offered to put these into my incubator since I was hatching anyways. I asked him what he plans to do with the extra roosters, and you should have seen the look of panic that crossed his face! Looks like I get to keep any that are roos.

All six of those eggs are fertile, I've seen movement in 5 of them. It's extremely unlikely that they're all hens.
