➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

@Texas Kiki do you have any pictures of your pansies as chicks that you could post I would like to see them I have one that I think might be cause it’s feathers look like the pansies you were showing a while back but I don’t know what I’m looking for
Give me five minutes, I need to get on the computer because it takes hundreds of swipes on my phone to get back to that date In order to upload a picture.

@Texas Kiki .....i did a random check on the littles tonight....my little (feather-sexable) male is still showing a clear protrusion on vent area typical of males and one of my pastels does not have protrusion on vent so guessing female!! start looking at your pansies first that you already know for sure to familiarize yourself with the difference in vent area.....then check your feather-sexable littles first and finally compare to the unknowns.....may not be 100% at first but should give you a better idea and is good practice!!
I'm so worried I am going to hurt someone on accident.

Here are two of draw down.
If you look in the bottom of the air cell you can see that blurry dark area?
That is the chick...not sure which part of it but this egg had already internally pipped too.
Is pipped not a real word? My computer changes it to popped.:he

And here you can see it is also internally pipped....this shadow is the beak.

In this last picture I don't know if you can see/tell but the drawn down air cell is more than half way down the egg.

just hold them upside down and gently separate feathers to see vent area.....just looking for protrusion....no pressure as you would in older quail to express foam.....very little risk of hurting them.
