Yesterday, me with a net in both hands...... and still coming up empty!
Our plan, since they were all on antibiotics and were just being culled was "Let's just build a fire in the fire pit". Yep, they flopped out of the bucket, and/or out of the fire. There were little heads everywhere, my DH said "I must've missed the fire".
The goats started out curiously at the fence & immediately decided they needed to be elsewhere once the first head was separated from a neck!


I'm wondering if my roo to hen ratio will end up at 1:1 in that first group of 18 outside?
I know I have 1 hen!

I just guessed... I can barely see the bird in that picture....Can you get a better picture?

If it is a wild type and has those chest spots it is a girl.

I made 3 breeding pens today!
Foam= 9 roos.....
I didn't check all of the crowers, but most, just for practice.

It is wild type. The others are all foamy with the buff colored breast. I'll get ya a pic without the wire in a minute.

Practice makes perfect.
I'm surprised because of the lack of light, there is no crowing or foaming at the house. Been real quiet. Too quiet.
