I'm glad he made it! I think you should keep this one for it's full natural lifespan and name him Cricket. He can be your lucky Cricket.

That name makes me think of this Monty Python skit - It wouldn't be crunchy without the bones, now would it?

Just because it is older does not necessarily mean it is tough. One of the most tender deer I had was an old buck starting to decline from his best years.

I tried a steak off of him and it was pretty tough while other steaks I’ve cooked and they weren’t this tough
