➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

:popAre your birds kept in pens, an aviary or free range?
:loveI love the tropical look of your backyard trees.
:droolNice compost bin too!
:oldSorry if I've already asked this at another time, I'm quite forgetful actually.

Well, I think if @Kiki is npip she is suppose to only get new birds/eggs from other npip'ers. Or maybe it's an "at risk of infection" thing to get from non-npip'ers. If I understood the Oklahoma information correctly. I hate it, it takes from the neighborly aspect of backyard swaps (although I wouldn't want to infect anyone's flock incidentally either).

I don’t think she is NPIP? But

No I am not NPIP.
I don't think I would ever try to mail live birds...I'd get busted for sure.

Yeah eggs are easier to miss but no way they would miss a living bird lol

I am just extremely picky about who I will buy eggs from and I would never bring home live birds from anybody.

That makes sense. I think hah not even chicken chicks or from people you know?

I have 2 grow out coops - 8'x2' and 6'x2'. Then the breeders have 3 cages 2'x2'. Free range quail leave, get eaten, or leave then get eaten. The dogs will help.

The bananas got hit hard by the early frost. I was hoping for NO frost this year so I could harvest the 2 RACKS OF HANGING BANANAS. :he Killed all the leaves but the bananas still look OK. Green, but not turning black and falling off yet. We shall see.

I was going for the rustic look of the compost bin. The chickens love it. They tear it apart so I can shovel it up for use. Very helpful, the destructive little beasts. I planted the bananas next to the compost bin and that was the best bunch. Got one rack off that bunch. The others struggled so I installed more compost bins. Bananas are heavy feeders.

Understood.
A young bird flew out of a tote one day before the move outdoors, it landed on the settee right beside one of my mutts.
They just looked at each other for a second, then the quailie pooped & the mutt decided she better leave before getting accused of something:oops:.
I'd like to get a herd protector, eventually.

:highfive:Mission accomplished! ( I like anything made out of wooden pallets)
:oldMy whole place is rustic!
:barnieMy chickens think it is their daily duty:gigto crap on our back porch, and actually anything else that can be walked on &/or landed on.
:oldI decided that with that in mind & the fact that my goats are escape artists I'd better relocate the Camaro to a safer zone.
:loveI do love the banana trees.
