So the egg broke I was wiping it off because I was not going to set a dirty egg here is the picture of the yolk
 
OTOH, I did try to photograph one once, and in the image I couldn’t get anything like the detail I saw with my eyes, no matter how I adjusted it, so there’s that...
You need to use a small aperture and preferably a light box to eliminate reflections but with enough light that a flash is not needed.
 
:lau I was just using my iPad, so that may have been my problem. I do have a real camera (not nearly as real as yours) that I can set the aperture on, so I’ll definitely keep that in mind. I have a buffered light I made for photographing glazed pottery, so aside from getting the camera and the computer to talk to one another I could do almost that fairly easily. :D
