Maybe Pharoahs start before the others?
Ikr? I don't know why, but I'm wanting to hatch some too!!! What to do? What are they good for? Just being "cute as a button"? "Boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew?"
Yeah, I wanted to have a couple breeding pairs, like with my Bobs.Pets for me, they're fun animals to have around. They do cute things, they're more interactive than most small cage birds (mine come running for treats). I keep mine from a background in exotic animal husbandry, so they are kept in large indoor cages with reasonably natural setups. They need to be kept in male/female pairs mostly, sometimes related same sex groups are alright.
My buttons seemed to be about a day earlier than the coturnix. I think it can depend on the strain and incubator too. Usually 16-18 for buttons and 17-18 for coturnix, when I hatched them.Do button quail incubate for the same amount of time as coturnix quail?
Maybe I shouldn't ask that question. I don't need button quail. View attachment 1990952 I don't. I just kind of want them.
Awww, crap. Someone local has some... https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/pet/d/novato-button-quail/7046154536.html

Guinea egg @12 days... it was moving yesterday, don't see any movement in this one today.
probably just really busy.....we’ve had week of good weather on top of the holidays and the 20% off sale.....they are also planning their crops/garden for this springI'm still waiting for Zack to get back to me on that. Either he's really busy (likely), or he doesn't want to deal with my miserly ways. ;-)
