It looks to me like the feathers on that wing are just matted. You can moisten it with warm water and then give it a chance to fluff out.

I don't like the whites that much, hard to sex them!

I decided to keep the largest white ones. Nice counter point and I get to show Kiki the yellow babies.

Got 13 to the refrigerator and then realized, I don't know the sex of the 2 whites I kept. Oops.

Of the 5 whites that did get butchered that were smaller, 4 males and 1 female. If I go on the premise that the largest are females, I'm good. If you play the ratios, 50% of the whites are female, then I'm also good.

In reality, I have a 25% chance of having 2 females. I did not keep a spare. I did keep the bleached one, she was the largest at 11.5 ounces live weight. The others are at 10 ounces. I now have 12 quail. 9 girls (I hope) and 3 boys (I hope).

Too smart by half.

And y'all are talking about buying more eggs. That is always an option.

It had been pipped for 36 hours with no progress and membrane was a yellowed brown color

And it’s not broke where the bend should be it is solid so it looks like the bones are fused straight

Nope I don’t like using a turner anymore I get better results without them

My guess is that maybe this dummy didn't get turned enough and the wing got stuck somehow.

I have no idea but that would be my guess.
