Who's going to butcher all your current males?

I’m not butchering them. I am going to put them on Craigslist once I can tell if I have any more males (want to list them all at once) and hopefully someone will want them as a flock rooster since they should all be gorgeous birds. But I am well aware that most likely someone will just eat them all but that is fine by me as long as I don’t have to do it.

That said, I am also thinking of keeping one so I will likely keep them a while longer yet until I can decide which one I want to keep/see if there are any more males besides the known 3.

But it's worth every penny in time saved and not having to scoop cat poop.

Hmmm I suppose that’s true. May have to save and try it haha although aren’t there cheaper ones?

Just know that choosing the wrong cockerel can stress your flock out. You won't know until they hit that hormonal age and after it peaks out if they'll be good for the flock.

Choose the gentle kind one. Just because they're human friendly doesn't mean they won't be good with watching the ladies.

If they're more focused on you, they're not a good choice. Get one that focuses on the flock and could care less about your presence.

Just a few things I've learned Don't choose a Sid unless it's for the stew pot

Well I have 11 eggs pipped going out of town today and won’t be back till tomorrow so I probably won’t get to see any hatch and they will all be fluffy when I get back

I use too...back in the "dark ages"
I had decent hatches back then with a Brower, round, galvanized, still air bator! I'm sure its alot easier to get decent results now days from "hand turn" bators, both still air and forced air. I'm not going back to them though. "Plug & Play is the name of the game, now days!

Is someone going to be home to keep an eye on them and move them to the brooder?
