I honestly was going to go by myself some new chicks for my birthday, but I honestly think that I am just going to put that money away... $120 may not seem like a lot, but it's $120 you didn't have if you spent it.

I will give my opinion on the chicks...

You already have full-grown chickens at your house so maybe pick a couple (2) then sell the rest. Get the money back that you paid for them and deposit it into your account and don't touch it!

With all this money that you are spending on all these animals, you would already have a place to live! Look at all the other useless junk that you have bought (technically it's not useless junk but it's useless to you because you have not used it yet)...

My goal for this year was to save up as much money as I possibly can and with that comes me telling no to myself... I will allow myself to buy some things, but most stuff I tell myself no. You tell yourself no and then you go and put that money into the account. Whatever money you were just about to blow, go put it in your account. It doesn't even matter if it's only $10, go put it in your account because all of that will add up at the end of this year!

Thanks, you have good points there and are probably right about it all. I actually was planning something similar anyway. I wanted to keep all the pullets and sell the boys or keep a rooster and I think there’s only 2-4 pullets anyway so wouldn’t be very many. So similar. But I may just pick my favorites and sell the rest. I don’t really need them. Although I do love them. Probably better off selling them and keeping the money. Idk.

Come to a lot of hard realizations today.

I’ve even debated whether I should even have animals.

I was going to buy $120 worth of chicks But I was just thinking... You have 45 eggs in the bator. I should probably see if I like any of those first!

Thanks, you have good points there and are probably right about it all. I actually was planning something similar anyway. I would just sell some chicks and then put that money into your account. It would almost be like a reward to yourself but you can't spend it

Just look at the bigger picture and not the small picture... Don't look at tomorrow and say oh I sold those chicks for such and such amount and it's not going to amount to anything...

That small amount that you did just put in your account will be part of the larger picture in the future

I don't know why but I want colored layers and the only way I will get those are if my olive eggers bred with any of his hens.

Neither one of us knows which rooster has made it with his hens. It's just a waiting game. I guess I shouldn't really care and just take the colored eggs that I get.
