➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I took my ad off of craigslist almost 3 weeks ago and I still get messages almost daily asking if I've got quail available. I can't keep up with my demand. I'm adding another turner to my incubator to put 120 eggs in weekly, just to try and keep up.

I get a lot of responses too. I'm the only person in my area that has quail, so I don't have any competition nearby.

This is my final numbers. I had one very late hatch that had curled legs and toes and couldn't even roll off of its back after a full day. We tried for an entire day to roll out over and help it but, hopeless. I put the little guy out of his misery before he starved out. Ended up with 73 healthy, bouncing baby birdies. Customer picked up 60 of them. I'll keep the rest for the freezer.

Almost a 70% hatch. Even with the issues I had. Hoping this next batch won't have issues and be more successful.

Quiet around here

I'll probably be around either a lot more or a lot less since I'm now on mandatory "shelter in place" until April 7th.
A lot more if I sit in front of the computer, a lot less if I get off my tail and do a bunch of the stuff that I'd like to get done around the house.

I’ve been debating having my egg shipment moved up sooner to use it as a learning project for my kids while they’re out of school for a month. I was planning for a late April hatch but now seems like it might make more sense.

Seeing how my boys are home every day now and able to take some of the load off of my wife, her and I have been honing in our Fortnite skills along with the boys in our down time. LOL

My eggs are developing The one that's totally white is the easiest to see in, of course. I can even see the heartbeat.

I think I'm going to crack a couple open and look for the bullseye. I have no idea what I would do with more button quail.
