So I have a hen that appears to be dragging a leg. I picked her up and didn’t see any obvious injury. Any thoughts on what it might be? She looks healthy otherwise but it is a chilly day so I didn’t spend much time examining her.

Looks like it is folded backward under her when she lays down then she stands on the other foot and sort of flutter hops to move. Kind of like she can’t even pull it in to a standing position.

So I have heard of this but had to google for more info. The tendon will run down the back of the leg? If I stretch the leg back and palpate I could maybe feel the tendon and slide it back in place?

2 wilds are definite male
2 Rosetta are unknown.

I’ll try to check out the tendon thing tomorrow. If it doesn’t look good I’ll “help” it. Do you think it could be butchered to eat? Should I be worried about diseases?

No girl... I do not think that I would worry about it being a disease.

I think that if you do help her you'll be able to investigate and see what the problem is and if it looked funky then you could not eat her.
