What about second and third generations after a few generational breedings donāt colors stabilize and it become more predictable as to whatās going to come out? Many moons ago...in my teens...I crossbred every pheasant I had to understand pheasant genetics better and hoped I'd get a pretty bird.....most of the time, it didn't work out, was like a painter...mix alot of colors together, you get mud. That's when I decided to just keep pure lines, it's especially important to keep them pure now days....with the loss of habitat, human encroachment on their territory, they are becoming a very endangered species in their countries of origin.
