Many moons ago...in my teens...I crossbred every pheasant I had to understand pheasant genetics better and hoped I'd get a pretty bird.....most of the time, it didn't work out, was like a painter...mix alot of colors together, you get mud. That's when I decided to just keep pure lines, it's especially important to keep them pure now days....with the loss of habitat, human encroachment on their territory, they are becoming a very endangered species in their countries of origin.

What about second and third generations after a few generational breedings don’t colors stabilize and it become more predictable as to what’s going to come out?

I am sorry, the providers of the original images have full control over those images. If they have not shared them with you, there is nothing I can do about that. It does prove my belief about which path of development your brain took until its final development fell under the dominion of the crazy lady.

I am heading out to work on the aviary. I honestly need to get those crazy beasts outside. I am not sure how anyone keep quail in their house. No offense to anyone who does. I guess I just prefer my birds to be outside and able to run around.

I think they know I am putting them outside today because they have been extremely friendly and nice today. Quite mellow for the first time in 3 weeks.
