Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
Yesterday I saw him grab another chick by the tail and try to drag it. That one may get separated out and put in with older birds sooner than it ought to.
That is crazy! Wonder why it’s so aggressive. There’s always that one though that drives you mental

Little, dark and mean may not make it to eating size. I just watched him grab one of the albinos and try to drag it around by the head.
Sounds like a good candidate for solitary. Putting it in with older birds may work too.

I acquired a small round bird cage and used it as solitary. Worked well. He was butchered eventually because it didn't calm him down, but I only waited a week. The first one I put to solitary crowed incessantly. Even the neighbor asked what that was. :lau

Been 5 days. I will candle tonight to see how the incubator eggs are doing.

QB#15 are growing. Been outside since day 3. There is so much difference between having 6 or fewer compared to 20+ in the brooder. The 20+ are chaotic with all the motion and commotion.

I've started separating out the few roos that are feather sexable and I kicked all of my three week olds outside. Aren't these boys pretty? Too bad I'm not keeping them.
