Like I said before, Scotch Eggs made with chicken eggs are huge. One is almost too much to eat. Quail eggs work better.
Ohhhhh okay! That actually sounds kinda good then! I do like sausage.... 🤔 although it sounds super unhealthy haha then again so is everything else I eat 😂🤣

Tuxedos can’t be sexed from the feathers I don’t think. Does Pepper crow or lay eggs at all? You could try vent sexing and see if any foam comes out but I’m not really sure exactly how to do that. I think you just gently squeeze but idk. Wouldn’t want to give incorrect directions and hurt your quail. You may have to wait to he/she crows or lays.

Yep! We make large Japanese style omelettes with them all the time. Or fill a small fry pan with them and eat them sunny side up
Custards are nice too, and can be sweetened with any sweetener--actual sugar isn't essential to the recipe. If you decide to use honey or other syrup, that could get complicated, but it might be doable if you reduce the milk. I believe some custards are made with broth or water, so the milk solids possibly don't play a large part in solidifying the custard. Look up Oriental-style custards--there's a lot on-line.
 
So, ... last 'bator shutted down this morning.

The Celadon hatch-summary in two batches, as the eggs were from two different sources and one was more poor as I am used to.

First batch: 71 eggs setup, none unfertilized, 8 early quitters, 63 into lock-down, 50 hatched.

Second batch: 28 eggs setup, 10 unfertilized, 3 early quitter, 15 into lock-down and 8 hatched.

Now there are again fluffy, little bumblebees in da house

I butchered 8 quail today. I also did one Monday so not my first but that one was sickly and not improving. So these were my first healthy birds I’ve done. A bit weird to me. At first it was relatively easy but then by the last few I felt like a bit of a murderer 😂🙈 I swear they got more scared as it went on but idk. Also it took me like 3 hours so next time I might do a lot less at a time 😂🤣

Anywho, these ones had far more meat on them than my first one. 🥰

It took me maybe like 20 or 30 minutes to butcher them all and then another almost two hours to process them all :oops:

Oh and skinning was far easier this time 😂🤣

I tried to scald one and it was pretty easy but then I accidentally tore the skin on one and decided to just skin them all haha

One had a little bit of like a scab or wound or something on it? So I tried to cut it off. Idk. Also some of them had some seriously BIG gonads so I think I made the right choices on who to off 😂🤣🙈 I did get one girl but she had really messed up feet.
