Last time I did quail I used the mama heat pad method and had 5 if I remember correctly crawl up and get stuck in the hardware cloth. Needless to say ceramic heat emitters are my go to now.

Baby quail like to off themselves.
They are just dumb dumbs that can't be given any offing options.

Flat clean clear brooders work best...with a bulb for heat.

Yeah...I think your thermometer is shot.
I am convinced quail would die at my house if I kept them at 105. Die dead.

I used my heat gun and shot a bunch of spots. It’s not like the whole brooder is that temp. Just a small area and they can find the perfect temp they want for themselves.

Muddy in your aviary setup what’s the fencing look like? I currently have 6’ tail 2x4 welded wire which is great for chickens but I know it won’t work for quail. Is a 2’ high band of 1” chicken wire around the bottom enough for them or do I need to go higher? Or do I need something else.
No I don’t think I will take my 2nd pen and use that for quail but just wondering what I would need to do.

Nope. If it is a tom, it is a good way to get your chickens killed. If it is a hen expect it to beat up on roosters. Turkeys are very social birds and need others of their own kind for proper socialization.
