Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
A bit off topic, but the delivery for my christmas gift from my son finally arrived .
He told me, that it was a foreign country order and delivery was anounced much earlier 🙈 ...
... I am so happy with it and so proud of my son for the idea ... so I need to share it:

I LOVE IT!

Curse of seven?

I put 14 candled eggs into the incubator. Right now, I have eight hatched with one that will likely not make it. Despite all my precautions covering the fan, it got stuck by burrowing under it and getting a leg caught in the plastic blade.

My last two hatches have been seven, regardless of how many eggs first went in. It is still very early though, just day 17.

After 10 hours, the celadon birds still look wet. How long do you think the max is that I can keep them in the incubator?
I'd take them out now. The brooder should be about the same temp as the incubator, and with less humidity, they'll dry out fast.

Looks like I'm going to have to add button quail to my next hatch. Both customers who bought coturnix from me today wanted buttons too.
you are an amazing saleswoman. I'd like to hear your sales pitch. Mine is lacking. And the market here is oversupplied.
